It would help Charlie build convidence up that he will alright and that someone will find him. It would also give someone a chance to hear him.
I wasn't in a scary situation.

Well, I got to admit, I talk out loud to myself sometimes when I am doing math or writing and essay or story. It makes things like, way easier, because you just feel like your talking to someone; but they aren't really there, and it's better that way. ha.
I think Charlie did it, because he doesn't really have many people to talk to other than himself, maybe he felt lonely and thought he'd talk outloud
It helps him to get out because it gives him confidence and it makes him feel less alone.
I can't remember a time when I was in a really scary situation.
To everyone in my group: Did you like this chapter?
I talk to myself ALL THE TIME! But I am sure that you have noticed that in class by now!
The scariest situation in my life was when our attic had bats! My dad tried to get the bats out of the attic himself when I was 8. He tied some toast down in the toaster to make smoke, shut all of the doors in the house and opened the attic hatch. Before long all of the bats fled inside the house. Or so we thought. That night while I was in bed I felt something walking up my covers toward me. I looked and there was an ugly, scary bat heading toward me. I started screaming and ran into the hall. My mom looked out, saw the bat and shut the door in my face. I turned and ran downstairs. My dad put me in the dining room and went to rescue my mom and brother. The he suited up in a ski-doo suit, work books, and a hockey helmet. He got a badminton racket and went after the bats chasing them outside. I can still remember watching the show from the floor in front of the french doors. What a memory!
